ESXServerandVirtualCenterprovideasetofpre‐establishedroles.Youcanalsocreate

newroles.

TheprivilegesandrolesassignedonanESXServerhostareseparatefromthe

privilegesandrolesassignedonaVirtualCenterServer.Ifyouhave

privilegesandroles

assignedonanESXServerhostandthenaddthathosttotheVirtualCenterServer

inventory,onlytheprivilegesandrolesassignedthroughtheVirtualCenterServerare

recognized.IfyouthenremovethehostfromtheVirtualCenterServerinventory,the

previouslysetESXServerhostprivilegesandroles

areused.
